To the soon-to-be husbands out there who are relieved that the wedding proposal is finally over, here’s the catch: the fun’s just about to start – can you tell there’s a slight hint of sarcasm there somewhere?
Here comes the road to the happiest day of your life: the wedding planning. Of course, this road isn’t going to be a smooth one, especially for most grooms who are as clueless as their brides are born prepared. There’s no need for you to dump all the burden of planning to your bride-to-be. You can have your share of wedding tasks and totally ace each one of them!
Choose your entourage.
On your big day, you will need your best guys to be by your side. Once you have tasked someone to be your best man, start preparing for your groomsmen list. Just make sure that you do this at least six months before the wedding so they can make their own preparations as well.
Find the right clothes.
At least three months before your big day, decide on your get-up. Are you sticking to the traditional tux or go all-out on a tail and top hat ensemble? Don’t forget the smaller yet similarly important details, such as your tie, flower pin, cufflinks, shoes, and socks. You might want to coordinate with your bride on this to match your wedding’s theme.
Be a helping hand to your bride.
You may think that your bride’s got everything in control, but what she needs the most during this crucial time is your comfort and support. Don’t be a wallflower throughout the wedding preparations and do something productive even when she did not ask for it.
Help out your partner by suggesting a good photographer or videographer who can beautifully capture your precious moments on the day of the wedding. You can also offer to organize your honeymoon to take things off her hands. Your bride will thank you for it.
Be present — physically and emotionally.
Let your bride feel your presence throughout the wedding preparations. This will be a stressful time for her, and the best thing you can do is let her know that you are there to ease the stress, even if it means just giving her a random massage or a kiss on the cheek. Of course, be present — in mind and in spirit — on the wedding day itself.
Arrange your marriage license.
Before departing for your honeymoon, arrange for your wedding license. Have it signed and sent off to the courthouse. Save your bride all the hassle of paperwork.

The best day of your married life would not be possible without all the guests and the people who helped you make it possible. Don’t forget to show your gratitude to everyone who came and assisted you in any way they can. Buy gifts for your groomsmen.
