I have not personally filmed a wedding at Kubota Gardens yet but here is a photo from an Autumn day of my dog.

If you are looking for autumn color look no further than Kubota Gardens. This 20-acre Japanese garden featuring 140 different maples truly shines in the autumn when you are surrounded by red and gold foliage. The red bridges and multiple ponds are perfect for pictures. The covered space here is very limited but works well for an elopement or stopping by for photos on a sunny day.

If you want a hint of rustic check out Salish Lodge and Spa. Surrounded by humongous evergreens and a short walk to the falls you are sure to get pictures that you will treasure forever. The Lodge is sure to impress and with many different ceremony and reception options you are sure to find the perfect fit. Yes, it is a little ways from Seattle but it is close enough that you have to consider it because the travel is worth it.

Thanks for reading my guide about choosing the right fall and autumn wedding venue near Seattle. The big takeaway that I must emphasize for any fall wedding is to have a rainy weather plan. However, don’t let this stop you because the solution can be as simple as renting a large tent which most event rental companies rent for a reasonable price.

Romantic Washington Elopement Wedding in Madina

Elopement Wedding Film on Lake Washington

Sitting in my car on a drizzly June morning, waiting and pleading with the sun to come out I wondered what my first social distancing wedding would feel like. Ron and James had changed their plans for a traditional wedding party to an elopement wedding at a public part on the shores of Lake Washington. A few minutes later the sun broke and a while after that I saw a well dressed man with a huge smile on his face strolling down the hill. From that moment on I forgot about worries and remembered why I do this, love. I couldn’t have been more honored to be a little part of James and Ron’s big day and I am looking forward to the rest of this season whatever it may be with confidence, optimism, and a lot of love. I also would like to do a shout out to David Cooper from Forever, Together – Western Washington Wedding Officiants for performing the lovely ceremony.

Surprise Wedding Video!!!

By Real Weddings, Seattle Wedding Videographer No Comments

On June 23rd, 2018, 5 years to the day since they exchanged their wedding vows in Las Vegas, Nevada. Sean surprised his wife Kaylene with a once in a lifetime vow renewal and wedding celebration in front of all of their loved ones.

How creating a surprise wedding video all began …

I was excited from the moment I heard about this. A surprise wedding?! Who does that? We decided to meet up for coffee and I could immediately tell this wasn’t a fantasy; Sean had a plan. He had thought through every detail and was about pull off the surprise of a lifetime.

Sean and Kaylene had gotten married in Vegas on June 23rd, 2013. At the time the small elopement wedding was perfect for them, but over the years they had both longed to have had their family there and for all the traditional wedding events.

Fortunately for Kaylene, Sean was talking notes.

The plan was simple but perfect. Sean had coordinated with Erik and Marissa of Ciccarelli photography to convince Kaylene to do a “style shoot” with them. They drove her around all morning to get a wedding dress, makeup and jewelry all under the pretension that she was doing a styled photo shoot to help their photography business out.

Meanwhile Sean raced to gather up their 5 kids, their dress clothes, and everything else he had been hiding away for months. Then rushed to Craven Farm a rustic farm/wedding venue nestled in the shallow hills of Snohomish.

I had a blast talking with Sean and Kaylene’s children as everyone bustled around us to create the stage for this magical event. Eventually the ceremony was set and family and friends were in their seats waiting for the big moment arrive. Sean stood at the end of the aisle, bouquet in hand, waiting for his wife. You could tell from his expression that he was nervous. All those months of planning had led up to this moment. How would she react?

Check out the video for yourself!

Wedding Video blew up on social media

After the wedding the Sean’s surprise made an impact. The video was picked up by King 5’s, Take 5 show twice and on one episode Sean and Kaylene actually came on the show to do an interview!

They were interviewed on King 5’s, Take 5 talk show!!
