Capturing Timeless Moments: An Enchanting Wedding at Georgetown Ballroom
A Seattle venue that delivers an original ambience of soft reds, neon, and that unique charm you are looking for.
The Georgetown Ballroom is nestled in the historic but newly fashionable red-brick South Seattle neighborhood of Georgetown. Its vintage charm, contemporary elegance, and eclectic decor make it one of my favorite Seattle wedding venues. I always find weddings here seem more relaxed and fun. I think the art and the vibrate color pallet of the venue puts guests at ease from the social pressure of a super formal wedding and let’s them let loose faster. The surprisingly lush and private backyard patio also allows for a relaxing change of pace and convenient family photo location.
In terms of wedding day amenities the Georgetown Ballroom has everything you need for a self-contained wedding. There are getting ready areas for two separate groups, each up a flight of stairs. The courtyard, building exterior, or the Georgetown neighbor all offer good locations for the first look and photos. If you want to be adventurous, I also love the nearby Kubota Garden for the first look and photo session. The venue’s layout facilitates seamless transitions between the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception between the two main ballrooms. I think if you are planning a Seattle wedding and looking for a venue that is a little different then the Georgetown Ballroom is worth checking out.
Autumn in Seattle is one of the most romantic seasons. The red and gold foliage and soft light from overcast skies lend themselves to studding wedding photos and video. With the good chance of sun in September and the stunning sunsets in October and November. Having an autumn wedding is guaranteed to wow your guests and give you beautiful photos and videos that you will cherish for a lifetime. When choosing an Autumn wedding venue in Seattle you want to be able to take advantage of the beauty of the season while ensuring that you and your guest can stay warm and dry. The following venues ensure the perfect mix of indoor and outdoor space.
If you are looking for a truly unique indoor venue you cannot get any better than the Chihuly Garden and Glass. The glasshouse is the perfect setting to watch the sunset and the red and yellow glass sculpture is the perfect complement to autumn colors. If you liked the Sneak Peek film check out the Extended Highlight film for more views of Chihuly’s. https://vimeo.com/309570833
I have not personally filmed a wedding at Kubota Gardens yet but here is a photo from an Autumn day of my dog.
If you are looking for autumn color look no further than Kubota Gardens. This 20-acre Japanese garden featuring 140 different maples truly shines in the autumn when you are surrounded by red and gold foliage. The red bridges and multiple ponds are perfect for pictures. The covered space here is very limited but works well for an elopement or stopping by for photos on a sunny day.
Ashley and Jon’s beautiful ceremony and reception were held at the Columbia Tower Club. Check out their Sneak Peek film to see the stunning views of the pnw and a little bit of the Fairmont hotel where the couple started their day.
If you are looking for stunning views of Seattle and Eliot Bay The Columbia Tower Club is the place to be. Take in the stunning views from the top floor of Seattle’s tallest building and get a unique perspective on the autumn colors in Seattle. A quick insider tip, some of the best views are in the bathrooms.
If you are looking for a mix of indoor-outdoor space UW’s Center for Urban Horticulture is the prefect venue. Take advantage of the Merrill Commons glass house with stunning views of the courtyard for a truly unique ceremony space or cocktail hour.
Shana and Ed’s wedding in the King St. Ballroom, which is located at top of the building across from the Seahawks stadium had terrific views of the Seattle waterfront area. Check out their Sneak Peek film to see the ceremony and reception area along with walkable photo spots.
If you are looking for a truly versatile space, check out the King St. Ballroom and Perch. The Perch is fully coved by a white tent and there are lots of options on how to use the indoor space.
YJ and April’s wedding had stunning views of the lake Washington area and florals that can not be beat. Be sure to check out their video for great ideas on how to decorate at Newcastle.
If you want stunning views and flexible space New Castle in Belleview is worth a visit. From the patio and tent you get stunning views of autumn foliage, the believe skyline, and Lake Union.
If you want a hint of rustic check out Salish Lodge and Spa. Surrounded by humongous evergreens and a short walk to the falls you are sure to get pictures that you will treasure forever. The Lodge is sure to impress and with many different ceremony and reception options you are sure to find the perfect fit. Yes, it is a little ways from Seattle but it is close enough that you have to consider it because the travel is worth it.
Thanks for reading my guide about choosing the right fall and autumn wedding venue near Seattle. The big takeaway that I must emphasize for any fall wedding is to have a rainy weather plan. However, don’t let this stop you because the solution can be as simple as renting a large tent which most event rental companies rent for a reasonable price.

Wild dance party, amazing Seattle views, and all within at a sleek Sodo Seattle venue. P.S. you have to love the classic Seattle brick architecture in this wedding video.
When the bride is a D.J you know you are in for a fun night. DeMyla and Trunel did not disappoint at their fun filled wedding at Within Sodo Seattle. Walking into the bride’s room you could feel the love and support from DeMyla’s family and friends. When DeMyla came out for her first look with her mother there was not a dry eye in the room. The love only grew as DeMyla and Trunel did their first touch and prepared to tie the knot. After that it was off to Within Sodo Seattle for the wedding ceremony. The couple was surrounded by love from family and friends as they said their vows and cemented their union.
With amazing food catered by Mama G’s Kitchen, the party was just getting started. Guests had so sing or dance for their table’s turn for the buffet leading to the best dinner I have seen yet. Everyone was singing, dancing, and celebrating. This was just the start through, with amazing speeches filled with wisdom and humor. The night wasn’t fully complete until D.J bride DeMyla went behind the booth and hosted an amazing dance party.
Please enjoy their wedding video and be sure to check out more amazing films here: Sneak Peek film.
Congrats DeMyla and Trunel! What an amazing wedding and I can’t wait to go back to Within Sodo to film there again.
