Planning A Bachelorette Party
by: Aimee Lyons (diydarlin.com)
Planning a party for someone else can be a big job, especially when it’s important to give them a special day. For many women, the task of planning a bachelorette party can be stressful and overwhelming; there are so many details to think about and people to plan for, and when you’re on a budget it can be difficult to ensure that the party will be exactly what you want.
Fortunately, there are several ways you can prepare for a bachelorette party that won’t break the bank. Even if you want to do a destination event, there are ways to go about it that aren’t super expensive; it just takes a little research and some creativity.
Here are some of the best ideas on getting started.
Stay close to home
If everyone on the guest list lives nearby, this should be a cinch. Look around town for a spa where everyone can go the day before the wedding and be pampered; arrange for brunch or lunch complete with mimosas and encourage everyone to relax and enjoy the day. Bachelorette parties aren’t just limited to nights out at a bar, so think outside the box a little and get creative.
Get out of town
If you live near a national park or just a beautiful area that offers lots of scenery, consider going out of town for the party and taking everyone on a camping trip. If that’s not everyone’s cup of tea, look into turning it into a “glamping” trip, which includes many of the luxuries one can find at home set against a gorgeous scenic backdrop.
It’s important to note that if you’re going out of town, you might want to remind everyone in the party to take precautions for their home while they’re gone. This means setting up motion-sensor lights around the perimeter, letting neighbors know where they’ll be and how long they’ll be gone, and/or asking a friend to house-sit. Hit the vineyards
Depending on where you live, there may be a vineyard nearby that you didn’t even know existed. Do a little research online to find out what’s available in your area and check into booking a wine tasting for your party. Many vineyards have very reasonable rates, and you can even set up a nice dinner for everyone while you’re there. Just make sure to arrange for safe transportation for everyone afterward; you might consider renting a limo that will drop each group member off at home.
Stay away from touristy areas
If your idea is to have a destination party, it’s a good idea to stay away from very touristy areas like New York City or Miami. These are great cities, but the cost will be more than you can handle pretty much any time of year. Instead, gravitate toward places like the beaches of the Carolinas, or New England in the fall. Think about the other women in the party and what they might like to see on this mini-vacation.
Don’t forget to have fun, yourself! This party should be a time for you and your friends to bond with one another and give the bride-to-be a day she’ll never forget, so relax and don’t sweat the small stuff.
